Ok I am known for getting quite excited over the silliest of things, simple things please simple minds as they say! So please excuse this post, but how cute does my little man look!
In the last week or so he has suddenly got a mouth full of teeth (more of this to come in another post), but he suddenly seems just so grown up and tonight for the first time he tried a big boys beaker! Yes he did spill a load down his top….BUT he kept going and is now a fully fledged pro with a cup!
I got the Doidy Cup he is drinking from for Molly when I was trying to wean her off the breast at 6 months old. They have a unique slant to them which makes it easier for little ones to drink out of from an early age. Molly drinks out of it now, not a problem, but she was, and still is a fussy little madame when it comes to drinks and cups. She will only have water if it is fridge cold and will only drink out of certain cups or bottles. This can be a nightmare when we are out and about.
It took us months to get Molly drinking from a cup, and when we did it was from a baby beaker, it is only in the past little while we have got her drinking out of normal cups and even now if we are out, she has to have her beaker, even at friends houses. I have no idea why she is like this (although I am convinced I traumatised her when I stopped breast feeding at six months as this is where the problems started……..! I guess I will never know though!). Even on a blazing hot day she would rather go without than drink out of anything other than her designated cups!
Anyway, I know it is only drinking out of a cup BUT knowing how his sister has been and what a journey we had with her……….this was a very exciting event for me! Plus to be fair I don’t get out much!
I agree. Completely cute. You go ahead and celebrate every achievement. I do, no matter how small. I still watch in wonder that my 18 month can walk and pick things up by himself. It’s amazing how much they learn and how quickly.
yeeehhhh marvellous sense of personal satisfaction knowing you created new life and are now nurturing them to adulthood, weird habits and all
Ah very cute indeed, I might give that cup a whirl
It is fantastic we love them! x
