Meal Planning Monday

7 May

Wow that week went quickly!! Can’t believe we are here again already!! As far as my goals went, I had a great week.  Went to the gym 4 times which was more than planned, signed up for the Race for Life.  I set myself a goal to lose 2lbs, however, I didn’t actually weigh myself last week to now know if I have or not!! So today I have weighed myself and can from now on see if I am actually loosing any weight.  I would like to think that 4 times to the gym on top of running around after my little monkeys would mean I lost 2lbs but I can’t say for sure…….

So this weeks meal plan is as follows  -

Monday – we had dinner at my Mums!!

Tuesday – Fish Pie

Wednesday – Vegetable Risotto

Thursday – Bean Chilli

Friday – Spaghetti Bolognese

For other meal plans head over to Mrs M’s and take a look, some great inspiration and ideas there for some yummy scrummy recipes to try out!

My goals for this week are – to measure myself (weird goal I know BUT it does have to be done to allow me to see the changes following all my hard work in the gym and I have been avoiding doing it because I know I won’t like what I see), to loose 2 lbs and my third goal is to keep feeling positive about the fact I am making changes. I have felt great this past week, having that time in the gym has given me such a positive mindset and I have had so much more energy and I want that to stay!

I am still listening to my Thinking Slimmer every night which is really helping and there have been some great posts over on their blog this week about exercise including a great home exercise plan which is great for Mums who don’t always have a lot of time to get out to the gym,  I would recommend taking a look over there for some great ideas and tips!

Have a great week everyone, and if you have your own meal plans don’t forget to link up with Mrs M’s.

Meal Planning Monday

30 Apr

This weeks meal plan is going to be a bit different.  As part of my Thinking Slimmer journey, I am going to be setting myself weekly goals.  I had a lovely chat with Sandra from Thinking Slimmer last week and smaller achievable goals will help me with my weight loss and keep me motivated.  So from now on I will be adding these to my Meal Planning posts when I do them.

Meal planning really helps because it makes me eat properly.  With my husband working late it is easy to just grab something quickly once the kids have gone to bed, and it is not usually something healthy.  So the meal plans really do help to keep me focussed on more sensible eating.

Here is my meal plan for this week -

Monday – Quiche and salad for me and the kids had a Little Dish Meal as I picked them up so late and my stash of emergency meals has all been eaten from the freezer!

Tuesday – Toad in the hole with roasted new potatoes and vegetables

Wednesday – Pasta with a fresh homemade tomato and basil sauce

Thursday – Shepherd’s pie for the kids, jacket potato and salad for me

Friday - Home made pizza

My Thinking Slimmer weight loss goals for this week are -

To loose 2lb in weight

To go to the gym 3 times this week (have been once already! YAY!)

To register to run the Race for Life (eeeeekkkkkkk!!)

So there it is, one meal plan and my weekly goals all in one post! Now it will be published on the blog I will be extra motivated to achieve it!

Don’t forget if you have a meal plan to head over to Mrs M’s and link it up, and if you don’t have a meal plan, then head over there anyway and get some fabulous inspiration!

Meal Planning Monday

9 Apr

Well that is Easter over for another year, it comes and goes so fast!! We have had a great weekend, lovely having time at home with the kids. Way to much wine and chocolate consumed which always makes for a fun weekend in my opinion!!

Now time to get back to some sort of  reality….I did my shop before my meal plan this week and it has not worked out well.  I spent way to much money and have had to try to fit my meal plan in with what I have already got rather than the other way around.  Not a good way to do things!

So here goes my meal plan for this week!

Monday - Cooked breakfast!! A rare treat in this house, my Husband usually works bank holidays but is off today so we have made the most of a lazy morning, a lovely lie in (kids did not wake until 8.30am, second day in a row, very lush in comparison to our usual 6.30am start!).  So we started the morning with a yummy cooked breakfast! Got some yummy cheese and biscuits for tea which makes today a very lazy day!! Love it!

Tuesday - I never got round to it last week as I went out for dinner with a friend one evening and re arranged my meal plan accordingly so it is  back on the list for tomorrow and I can’t wait to test it out!! Vegetable Filo Tart with Feta Cheese and salad from the lovely Utterly Scrummy!

Wednesday - Vegetable pasta bake

Thursday - Chicken breasts with new potatoes and vegetables

Friday - Fish Pie
